"It was an intensity beyond anything I'd ever encountered… the presence of God—I'd never encountered it like this—the glory of God."

Hamilton FilmalterLast week I had the opportunity to speak with Hamilton Filmalter, a healing evangelist from South Africa who has moved to the Pacific Northwest. Hamilton told me about the strong move of God's Spirit in Portland, Oregon and the tent meetings that have begun there.

Below is an excerpt from that interview…

BCN: Hamilton, talk about this current outpouring happening in Oregon right now.

Hamilton Filmalter: I went down to Lakeland. What I experienced there, the Spirit of God, was beyond anything I'd ever encountered in my life. It was an intensity beyond anything I'd ever encountered… the presence of God—I'd never encountered it like this—the glory of God.

So I came back [to Oregon] and I knew when I was there that we had to bring this back to our region… We just started last night, and we're still trying to get the word out. We've got a number of churches involved with us but we want to see many, many more people involved and really see an outbreak.

BCN: Where are you meeting?

HF: It is the North Wilsonville exit [off I-5], then a mile up Boones Ferry Road on the right there's a road called Green Hill Lane, you turn right on Green Hill Lane, left onto the parking area of the tent. It's in Tualatin, and it's the property just south of Horizon Christian School.

BCN: How many people came last night?

HF: About 100 people, but I believe it's going to grow. We had quite a number of healings last night. There was one lady, we still have to get medical feedback on it, but she was in chronic pain, could not move her neck at all. God touched her, she said she had cancer, and that all the symptoms of the cancer were gone. I mean, she got radically touched by the Lord. Another lady had serious hip trouble and got healed, and a lot of people that had pain and so on that got healed. And obviously, you know, you can only go after the stuff that is there. So we need people to bring the sick and we believe God is going to do many, many miracles, and many people are going to be set on fire [for the Lord]. And we encourage people to [come from all backgrounds and denominations] that we can see this fire go out, from the radically "Holy Ghost people" to the Evangelical people in our area. Then also, to bring the lost, we believe the lost will be saved in the thousands.

Portland OutpouringBCN: So, you're inviting in all churches at this point? Inviting that unity in the Spirit?

HF: Right. The whole Kingdom vision: to really see the Kingdom of God established, where people become "Kingdom-minded." You know… where miracles become common.

BCN: So let me ask you this, as you're inviting people to these meetings, and maybe there are some who are very cautious, or maybe even fearful—about what they may encounter there, and fearful of even being duped in some way—what would you say to them, and how would you speak to that kind of an attitude?

HF: The thing I'm encouraging people [to do is], let's go back and look at the ministry of Jesus. Let's go back and look at the book of Acts, and see that these things are front and center in the Word of God. We simply want to obey the Lord Jesus in doing what His Word says, and believe in Him and in His Word. Right now, there are so many people crying for revival; now I know many of them don't know what they're crying for. What they're crying for and what God has for them are two different things. He's answering their prayers, but not in the way they think. So many people are hungry, and part of the reason people are skeptical is because there have been a lot of doctrines and heresy taught to dissuade people from seeking more of the Holy Spirit. [But] we have seen, just over the last year and a half, many Evangelicals being baptized with the Holy Spirit. They're hungry, and they don't know what they're hungry for.

God has continued to visit me more and more and more, and it's gotten more and more intense—the outpouring of the Spirit. I know I'm walking in a fresh mantle, a fresh anointing, beyond anything I've walked in before.

The meetings are held Wednesday through Sunday nights in Tualatin and are free of charge.
