"I try and represent peace and bringing people together…"
Paul McCartney (Beatles, Wings) is not letting a few death threats stop him from doing his first concert in Israel, to honor the country's 60th birthday.
The former Beatle apparently received a warning, recently—by Omar Bakri, an Islamic extremist—in a British tabloid; not to hold the concert in Israel or his life would be in danger. (Photo: FOXNews.com)
But Sir Paul was not put off, stating, "There's always going to be somebody who'll dispute whether you should go to a country. I try and represent peace and bringing people together, so I kind of feel that when I go, it's more of a humanitarian thing—it's not political."
According to reports, Omar later retracted the threat.
