The UK Set to Launch "Bring Your Bible to Work Day"

(United Kingdom)?Christians all over the U.K. will be taking their Bibles to the office, school or building site on October 27, as Bible Society launches Bring Your Bible to Work Day.

Bible at workAccording to a Christian Today report, the event is a follow-up to Bible Sunday, which takes place on the previous day, Sunday, October 26. "It is hoped," notes the report, "that thousands of churchgoers will slip a Bible in their briefcase, or pack Scripture with their sandwiches, to mark the special day."

The Bible Society is quoted as saying it hopes that the morning after unearthing the Bible's riches?on Bible Monday?Christians will want to make the Bible part of everyday life by taking its message with them.

"These days people can have Moses on their Motorola, listen to God on their iPod, read Matthew instead of the Metro or look up Isaiah on the internet," said Beth Read, Bible Society's Church Development Officer.

The initiatives are said to be part of the Bible Society's mission to make God's Word heard, by connecting it with everyday life and making its life-changing message available around the world.
