"God made me and I'm a servant of the Lord whether it be on the softball field or as a mom, or on television."

She's already known for having been an integral part of the University of Arizona softball team that won the College World Series in 2001, and pitcher Jenny Finch is also no stranger to the Olympics—having won a gold medal in 2004.

Now, as Jenny prepares for the upcoming 2008 Olympics in Beijing, she shares what really keeps her grounded through the rigorous schedule, traveling and ever-increasing publicity—God.

Jenny Finch"I feel extremely blessed to [have been] able to grow up with parents who love the Lord and two older brothers who set an amazing example for me as far as living for God each and every day," says Jenny about her family. (Photo: CBN.com)

And, as the media focuses on the often immoral activities and lifestyles of celebrities and sports figures, Jenny Finch carries a refreshing attitude—she takes being a role model very seriously.

"I think for me being a role model is one of the greatest gifts that God has given me and allowed me to do. …It's a crazy world out there and if I can be a light in any way to the young women of this world, then I am going to do that and I am going to take it very seriously…if I can somehow lead them to God through my heart and through the way I carry myself, then it's incredible."

When offers to appear in several magazines, known for their racy content, came down the line, Finch quickly turned them down. "What if a young girl walks into the supermarket and sees you on the cover and says, 'Daddy I want that magazine'… I believe that our bodies are the temple of God and I just wouldn't put myself in that situation," Finch said, in an interview for CBN.com.

Living for God is also a part of Jenny's life out of the spotlight, as she and husband (and fellow pitcher), Casey Daigle, who plays for the Minnesota Twins, together raise their toddler-son, Ace.

As she looks forward to the Olympic competition in China next month, Jenny notes, "God made me and I'm a servant of the Lord whether it be on the softball field or as a mom, or on television… You know, just having Him in your heart and living a life for Him; that's it. That's where it's at."
