"Within a few months, over 10,000 people were getting saved-a-week in New York City."

EDITOR'S NOTE: As the financial world is buzzing with the latest rate cut by the Federal Reserve, we look back at a much greater "force" at work on Wall Street over a century ago—the sovereign hand of God. I'm excited to see, by this report, that there are new prayer groups springing up today, not only on Wall Street, but all over the country—wherever hearts are hungry for a move of God. Come soon Lord Jesus! –Aimee Herd, BCN.

(New York)?CBN has published a fascinating report on the 150th anniversary of what is termed the "Wall Street Revival." The unique revival was spearheaded by Jeremiah Lanphier in 1857 in a small Reformed Dutch church near Manhattan where, following a directive from the Lord, he began weekly, noon-time prayer meetings.

"Within a few months, over 10,000 people were getting saved a week in New York City," said Pastor Bruce Berliner, author of The Wall Street Revival.

According to the report, ultimately two million people were saved as a result of this simple act of obedience.
