One of the Israelis working on the water line said the terrorist threats won't deter the project: "Water is a basic need. In Gaza, there is a whole population that seeks no war, that just wants to live in peace."

The Ynet news portal reported that the project will cost several million dollars, all of which is being paid by Israel, and that the water line will be laid regardless of whether or not Hamas honors the current ceasefire.

The water line enters Gaza through the Eshkol region of southern Israel, which is ironically the area hit most often by terrorist rockets, mortars and flaming kites. There is also great concern the workers laying the water line could be targeted by terrorist snipers, despite the fact that they are laboring to provide the residents of Gaza with fresh water.

One of the Israelis working on the water line said the terrorist threats won't deter the project: "Water is a basic need. In Gaza, there is a whole population that seeks no war, that just wants to live in peace. And this population is the majority and it is controlled by Hamas, which is very bad. Most people in Gaza are thirsty for water, but also thirsty for a normal life and a better future for their children. Despite everything, they are our neighbors, we must not ignore what is happening there."

According to the terms of agreements between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, Israel has already, for years, been supplying Gaza with 10 million cubic meters of water. Many months, it supplies even more, and is willing to go even further, but the Gaza water infrastructure is in such bad condition that it can't handle more supply from Israel. Instead of fixing such critical problems, Hamas uses its influxes of cash to dig terror tunnels and build rockets. Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here
