After "Perversion Files" Scandal, Boy Scouts of America Now Faces Bankruptcy: Scores of New Victims Coming Forward

The scope of the abuse is simply staggering.

(Irving, TX) — [Faith, Family, America] Now hundreds of others who were abused by leaders within the Boy Scouts of America are coming forward after a law firm ran television ads urging unreported victims to speak up. The firm urged victims because the Boy Scouts is seeking bankruptcy out of fear of all of the impending lawsuits. The tax filing would tighten the statutes of limitations against victims, shortening the time period after the abuse that victims could come forward. Jeff Anderson, a victims' rights attorney, says the organization is guilty of a massive cover up. "For many, many years there's been an excavation of what are called the 'perversion files' — those are files held and hoarded at the Boy Scouts of America headquarters," Anderson said, explaining that "those 'perversion files' that they've had reflect that they have removed thousands of offenders of childhood sexual abuse over the years and they've kept that in files secretly"...
