Fortunately for the 27-year-old mother, who was not identified, the officer who responded to the Kohl's department store in Fairfield had compassion for her.

Store employees called the police after the mother was caught on camera stuffing clothing into a bag, according to WABC-TV.

After Fairfield Police Sgt. Hector Irizarry arrived and placed the suspect under custody, he noticed that there was a lot of children's clothing in the bag of stolen goods and that she was accompanied by her young daughter.
