Three Prophetic Leaders Have Called for a Fast for California; What's Different About It, and How You Can Join It Already in Progress

"Open the Heavens Over California! A Call to a 40-Day Fast"

It will be similar to the Jesus People Movement of the 1970s, which was the last known salvation and healing-based revival in North America. My life dramatically changed on February 6, 2018 when Lou Engle called me and shared a dream from one of his intercessors. It was about three prophets from Northern, Central and Southern California coming together with one voice to call for a 40-day fast to open the Heavens over California and release a new revival that will reach the entire globe.

The three prophets in the dream were Lou Engle (from Southern California), Doug Addison (from Central California) and Keith Ferrante (from Northern California). The three of us connected and the Lord moved quickly upon us so we are now calling for a 40-day fast.

As a testimony and confirmation of this, the very next day I received a dramatic healing of an affliction to my immune system!

Why a 40-Day Fast and Why Now?

Beginning March 1 and ending April 9 (the anniversary of the Azusa Street Revival), this is a different kind of fast! [Yes, it has already begun, however, you can join in today]

Interestingly, this fast also started during the Jewish festival of Purim, a celebration of the freedom that came during the time of Esther (Esther 9:22) when their sorrow was turned into joy.

Wherever you live, you are invited to be a part of this!

This Fast has 3 parts:

1) A Fast to Joy: Celebrate, radically praise, and feast with great joy for the coming revival!

2) A Fast of Negativity: Fast from negative thoughts, words and media, with repentance for judgments and negativity against ourselves, as well as other individuals, groups and churches.

3) A Fast of Food (optional): For those who feel led by the Lord. This can be a fast of whatever Holy Spirit leads you to do.

"California, I Can Hear the Sound of a Heavy Rain"

It seems everywhere I turn, people, churches and even nations are being stirred to fast with great expectancy of a coming move of the Holy Spirit. A few days ago, my friend Mando Matthews, a prayer leader in Pasadena, contacted me with a dream. (Photo: Lou Engle/via Elijah List)

He dreamed he was at an outdoor gathering much like an old camp meeting, and the preacher was a hybrid of three prophetic preachers: Lou Engle (from Southern California), Doug Addison (from Central California), and Keith Ferrante (from Northern California). 

Suddenly, from the platform, the preacher said, "I'm doing another fast with Mando." This caught Mando's attention, but he didn't know anything about the fast to which he was referring. Then it dawned on him that the preacher would tell him more in person. Sure enough, in the next part of the dream, they were sitting across a table from each other in a restaurant. The preacher began to sing a very anointed song about the Holy Spirit. My friend could distinctly remember the phrases: "Heaven, send the rain. Pour on hearts again." Then Mando looked straight into the preacher's eyes and said, "We already have two rain songs. But I suppose if you wish, I can help you publish this one." The gentleman looked right back at him and said, "This is the last rain song."

As soon as I heard this dream I was struck with a clear sense of its meaning. I believe the "last rain" is the latter rain that precedes a great harvest as is prophesied in Joel 2:23, Hosea 6:3, and other passages.

"Be glad, people of Zion, rejoice in the Lord your God, for He has given you the autumn rains because He is faithful. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before. The threshing floors will be filled with grain; the vats will overflow with new wine and oil." (Joel 2:23–24 NIV)

"So let us know, let us press on to know the Lord. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; And He will come to us like the rain, like the spring rain watering the earth." (Hosea 6:3 NASB)

As for the "rain songs" that are mentioned in the dream, I sense this is referring to two songs that stand out from the journey of TheCall. "Let it Rain" by Pocket Full of Rocks was sung at the first Call in Washington, DC before Michael W. Smith picked it up and recorded it. The song has since circled the earth for the past two decades, being sung by millions as an intercessory cry before the Lord. Seven years later "Sound of Rain" written by Autumn Katz was sung at TheCall Nashville. Both of these songs were sung again at TheCall Azusa in Los Angeles. But, there is a "last song" yet to be sung, a song of joy and expectancy, connected with the fast that will precipitate the latter rain outpourings of the Holy Spirit on California.

I believe the "hybrid" man in my friend's dream is the convergence of these three prophets from the north, south and central regions, who would call Believers from all of California to join together in a united prayer strategy for the latter rains! The three of us hardly knew one another before now, but this dream has drawn us together to each bring our part to this hybrid fast.

Keith Ferrante is calling for celebratory feasting, releasing praise and joy, and prophetically declaring, "Now is the time for what has been sown in tears to spring forth in harvest" (Psalm 126).

This is what the Lord Almighty says: "The fasts...will become joyful and glad occasions and happy festivals for Judah." (Zechariah 8:19 NIV)

Doug Addison felt his part of the fast was to call for a complete fasting from negativity, rallying thousands to prophesy blessing over the state of California as in Psalm 67. As we fast from negativity, it will be important to release the opposite spirit of joy and blessing to open the heavens.

I received a word 18 years ago from Paul Cain with many confirmations since – that I was to call the world to 40 days of fasting, a "Jesus fast" (like the original), that would loose another Jesus Movement.

It is our conviction that pieces of this hybrid sound will land on people's hearts as the Spirit witnesses. All of us will rejoice in praise and prophetic celebration of the coming move of God. All will fast negativity and begin to massively bless the state of California. And probably many of us will feel the call to 40 days of fasting on water, juice, a Daniel fast, or media fast, in expectation of the latter rains.

We will feast, fast and bless from March 1st until April 9th, the anniversary of the Azusa Street Revival, praying for the rain in the time of the latter rain. Let's prophecy, "He will come to us like rain, spring rain!"
