"Not only did my Brooke have the time of her life, but it was the first time she ever danced, she actually DANCED! I have NEVER seen so much joy on her face..." -Night to Shine parent

Calling it his "favorite weekend of the year" former NFL QB-turned baseball player, Tim Tebow kicked off this year's (the fourth annual) Night to Shine on Friday, starting with a visit to Guatemala. (Screengrab via Tim Tebow Foundation-Night to Shine)

According to the Tim Tebow Foundation, 537 churches in 16 countries participated in the 'prom night experience' established by Tebow for the purpose of blessing those with special needs and sharing with them the love of God.

There were some 175,000 volunteers who came together to help make an unforgettable experience for young people with special needs.

Some of those inspiring stories were posted on the Tim Tebow Foundation Facebook page, like this one:

It's been so exciting to see all the stories and memories flood in from Friday's #NightToShine... As we gather them all, and work on finalizing this year's Official Highlight Video, we wanted to share one of these amazing stories with you:

"Something I never dreamed I would see, my daughter going to prom. But thanks to the Tim Tebow Foundation and all the churches & volunteers, it became a reality at Night To Shine in OKC. And not only did her going absolutely amaze me, but her reaction as well. Kids with special needs can sometimes 'melt down' in crowded areas around people they don't know. Not only did my Brooke have the time of her life, but it was the first time she ever danced, she actually DANCED! I have NEVER seen so much joy on her face, and the fact that we had been going from 3:00pm (for hair and makeup) to 10:30pm... ANOTHER FIRST!!! As we were leaving, she kept telling me, 'I not tired, I just stay here.' My heart was overflowing with joy for her. She truly SHINED last night! I cannot thank the Tim Tebow Foundation enough for making a difference in so many lives. I can never express how much this has meant to Brooke and me." -Parent from Putnam City Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, OK (Photo taken at the Roanoke Collaboration in Virginia/Facebook-Tim Tebow Foundation)
