When asked what she thinks of President Trump's comments regarding the situation, Alveda King said, "We know that President Trump is draining the swamp and in the process he's stirring the pot. And as he stirs the pot, emotions are boiling. He did use some strong language, however, I've been called worse on Facebook and Twitter..."

"...We can protest peacefully, and still respect our flag, the National Anthem ... but we really need to step back, take a breather, and that's really what 'taking the knee' can help you do.
