Editor’s note: Since I have not yet seen this movie I am not endorsing it, however it has received many good reviews from reputable sources and in the event Hollywood presents movies with good morals and values, I think they should be supported so that writers, producers and directors will offer more in that genre. Ultimately you will have to use your own discernment in considering this or any other movie to view.

Elements of faith, prayer, reconciliation and fellowship communicate a message of unconditional love with a Christian tone, in the new movie “Because of Winn Dixie,” says Rebecca Grace in a review for Agape Press. The Twentieth-Century Fox release tracks the journey of a young “Opal,” whose father is a preacher, from feelings of abandonment by her alcoholic mother, to companionship sparked by a prayer and the help of her canine hero: “Winn-Dixie.”
