This Bill Would Require Women Seeking Abortions to Obtain Permission From Baby's Father First

According to ABC News, the bill, introduced by Republican Rep. Justin Humphrey, passed Oklahoma's Public Health Committee by a vote of 5-2.

If passed, the bill would require women to obtain written consent from the baby's father and to identify the father in writing to the doctor performing the abortion. The bill would make exceptions for cases of rape, incest, or if the mother's life is in danger.

The bill also would allow the baby's father to request a DNA test.

Humphrey came under fire from pro-abortion groups for introducing the bill, as well as for referring to women as "hosts" for fetuses.
