She had family in 3 different states, and nobody was able to reach her…

[Faithit.com] When Claire Olsen's family didn't hear from her for several days in the wake of Hurricane Matthew, they started to get really worried. Though Claire has weathered her fair share of hurricanes, central Florida has never seen a storm quite as dangerous as Matthew. The family tried getting help from police, but they were completely overwhelmed with emergency calls stemming from the hurricane's aftermath.

That's when her grandson, Eric, came up with a genius idea—and it all started with a pepperoni pizza. From 1,300 miles away, the Nebraska resident phoned the local Papa John's in Palm Coast and left specific instructions for the delivery man to call his number when he reached Claire's home to make sure she was okay.

For good reason, his grandma almost didn't answer the knock on her door, seeing as she hadn't ordered anything. But when she opened the front door to the sweet aroma of a fresh pepperoni pizza and the even sweeter sound of her grandson's voice on the phone, Claire couldn't help but smile from ear to ear. It turns out, the reason nobody was able to reach her was because the storm had knocked out the phone lines. (Photo Credit: Faithit.com)

According to the delivery boy, the priceless reaction on Claire's face was a greater reward than any tip he's EVER received! See more from this heartwarming story in the WFTV news interview by clicking here.
