In an exclusive interview with The Gospel Herald, the 46-year-old "Fireproof" actor said Christians shouldn't get discouraged by today's political climate and contended that contrary to popular belief, it's actually an "exciting time" to be a Christian in America.

"Christians should remember that we are not trying to elect a king; we've already got a King - His name is Jesus Christ," he said. "He wasn't voted into office, and He wasn't elected by the media - He had a perfect foreign policy, He understands welfare and healthcare, He is a great physician - we don't need a king, we have the King of kings. So, Christians, what you need to do is remember who you are, and Whose you are. We need to elect leaders who will represent the King's way in our land."

He added, "There has never been a more exciting time to be a Christian in America. This could be our finest hour - think about it. It's when all hope seems lost when God parts the waters, when He splits the Red Sea. I think this could be a Red Sea moment for you and me and America's story right now. We're people of faith, we have eyes to see the goodness and faithfulness of God when His people turn to Him."

It's important for Christians to unite in prayer, Cameron said, as America has undoubtedly reached a point where it needs divine intervention, revival, and spiritual healing.

"Pray that our brothers and sisters in the family of faith would not become discouraged and disengage at this critical time in our nation's history - everything is hanging in the balance, so much is at stake," he advised. "What we need to do is …”
