God Sees Embryos as Full and Complete Humans, Says Pope

In an address in St. Peter's Square on Wednesday, Pope Benedict reaffirmed the Catholic Church's position on abortion and all forms of destructive embryonic research. The Pope quoted Psalm 139 and commented, "It is extremely powerful, the idea in this psalm, that in this 'unformed' embryo God already sees the whole future." The Pope also made it clear that Christian belief in the preservation of human life is based in God's love: "The loving eyes of God look on the human being, considered full and complete at its beginning."
