The Islamic State senior leader reportedly had a bounty of $7 million 'on his head.'
 
His death was announced by Defense Secretary Ash Carter in a press conference, who noted that his killing will "hamper ISIS capabilities."
 
Carter also said that forces had "cut off" the main route used by the terrorists between Syria and Northern Iraq.
