"Danny's loving every moment of this, so thank you."

Danny(Foxborough, MA)—Danny Nickerson turned 6-years-old on Friday, and all week long he’s been receiving his birthday wish of cards and letters (and even packages), sent from all over the world. (Photo via Facebook)

Last October, Danny was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), an inoperable and chemotherapy resistant brain tumor. The prognosis his doctors gave him was grim; fewer than 10 percent of DIPG patients survive past 18 months.

As Danny’s birthday approached, and his mother asked him what he wanted, his answer was to receive lots of birthday cards.

So Danny’s mother posted his request on her Facebook page, and it soon went viral, with hundreds of people from all over the world sending mail.

In fact, on Thursday, Danny reportedly received more mail at the Foxborough, MA post office than the whole town combined. According to the MyFoxBoston report, it took four trucks and a U-Haul to bring the cards, letters and packages home.

Danny’s father, Daniel Jamieson remarked, "Danny's loving every moment of this, so thank you."

More mail is still welcome, say Danny’s parents, his address is below:
