Delta and 2 Other US Airlines Suspend Service to Israel, One Flight Diverted after Rocket Reports

Delta Air Lines and American Airlines both told CNN they suspended service to Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv. US Airways made the same decision, the Israel Airport Authority told CNN.

Citing "reports of a rocket or associated debris" near the airport, Delta said it suspended service between its hub in New York and Tel Aviv "to ensure the safety and security of our customers and employees."

From Atlanta Journal-Constitution: Delta said its Flight 468, a Boeing 747 from JFK with 273 passengers and 17 crew, diverted to Paris-Charles de Gaulle on Tuesday after reports of a rocket or associated debris near the airport in Tel Aviv.
