(Washington, DC)—A sustained Republican filibuster in the US Senate resulted in a 56-43 vote defeating a bill led by Democrats that would have "overturned" the recent Supreme Court decision awarded to Hobby Lobby. (Photo via Life News)

The bill introduced by Senate Democrats would have changed the Religious Freedom and Restoration Act in a way that would have forced companies to pay for birth control and other abortion-causing drugs.

Said Senator Orrin Hatch, "This is the first time in American history that Congress will consider a bill intended to diminish protection for the religious liberty of all Americans. It is a part of a broader campaign to demonize religious freedom as the enemy, as an obstacle to certain political goals."
