"I wasn't embarrassed. I wasn't the only one having to learn. We look back and laugh now. We laughed that night [their wedding night] too, like, 'What are we doing? I don't know…'" -Missy Robertson

Missy Robertson(West Monroe, LA)—It isn't the first time Jase and Missy Robertson have spoken about their commitment to wait until they were married—23 years ago—to become intimate with each other, but in a recent Us Weekly report the high school sweethearts divulged more information on their decision. Not only that, but they shared about a tragic miscarriage Missy suffered with her first child.

As for staying virgins until they were married, Missy said, "I wasn't embarrassed. I wasn't the only one having to learn. We look back and laugh now. We laughed that night [their wedding night] too, like, 'What are we doing? I don't know…'"

Jase's take, as described in his book "Reflections on Faith, Family and Fowl," was that their wedding night was like a "biology experiment."

"I've never had anything else in my life requiring that amount of self-discipline and self-control," he told Us Weekly.

In a separate interview with Closer magazine, Missy also talked about the miscarriage she experienced with her first child due to a tubal pregnancy.

"I was about eight to 10 weeks along when I miscarried," she said, "just enough time to be excited about it and start telling everyone. I'd heard of tubal pregnancies for years, but didn't really understand the mental anguish of actually having to go in and have someone remove what could've been your child. It was extremely difficult."
