"For over a hundred years, as people arrived at Ellis Island from every part of the world, they would see the Statue of Liberty and feel they had reached a safe haven in the USA. Today, we're extremely proud to be part of the team bringing 21st century safety and security technology to this long-standing symbol of hope and freedom." -Dror Irani, CEO, BriefCam

In 2012, Hurricane damaged the iconic monument, requiring extensive renovations and repairs. It was opened again to the public on July 4, 2013.

According to a report in Breaking Israel News, the "current surveillance deployment marks the first time an all-digital surveillance system has been installed at the Statue of Liberty monument, which previously had implemented an old analog system that had been unable to reach certain areas of Liberty Island."
