"It is therefore, with deep sadness and regret, that I must inform you that according to this new data that flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean."

According to SKY and FOX News reports, Malaysian PM Najib Razak spoke in a press conference Monday morning, to convey the latest findings of the investigation into the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight 370.

Said Razak, "Based on new analysis… MH370 flew along the southern corridor and that its last position was in the middle of the Indian Ocean west of Perth. It is therefore, with deep sadness and regret, that I must inform you that according to this new data that flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean."

The announcement came following the discovery by Australian and Chinese search planes of objects thought to be debris in the area mentioned by Razak.

Charter flights were reportedly bringing family members of Flight 370's passengers and crew to Australia.
