Despite Boycotts, St. Patty's Day Organizers Refuse to Bow to Political Correctness

Numerous media outlets are reporting that St. Patrick's Day parade organizers in New York and Boston remained undeterred in their efforts by several politicians who opted out of making appearances during festivities in solidarity with pro-gay lobbies. (Photo via NYCStPatricksParade.org)

New York mayor Bill De Blasio was one such figurehead, becoming the first mayor in decades to sit out the city's St. Patrick's Day parade. So did Boston mayor Martin Walsh.

Ireland's Prime Minister Edna Kenny, however—quoted as saying the holiday is about Irishness and not sexuality—gladly joined the New York parade.

On a separate note, several large corporations which have traditionally supported the parades, gave in to LGBT pressure and backed out of their sponsorship at the last moment; liquor companies Guinness, Heineken and Sam Adams, to name a few.
