KMBC News: When 17-year-old Kansas boy Daran Wankum was diagnosed with a brain tumor, he gave up on his dream of joining the United States Marines. He didn't plan on how the Marines would rally to his side. After his surgery they stood guard outside his hospital room for 24 hours during surgery. But that wasn't the only way they honored him, he was the recipient of a rare award given to only 22 people in Marine history.
