(Canada)—Visionary and intercessor Faytene Grasseschi, head of the group MY Canada, has been mobilizing tens of thousands of Christians to influence Canadian political leaders through a prayer and political action.

According to a Charisma News report, Grasseschi—known simply as "Faytene"—began leading a "ragtag ministry" in 2005 and "despite her lack of prestige, money or political mojo, she dared to believe God for uncommon favor to influence government at a critical time in her nation's history."

The report notes that Faytene went to the seat of Canadian government in Ottawa with "a goal to meet with and call her nation's leaders back to Biblical values for the sake of future generations."

The result of that initial leap of faith was that a four-day grant was given for Faytene and her team to meet with Canadian leaders to present their message.

One professional Canadian lobbyist was quoted as telling Faytene that such permission was extraordinary, saying, "You don't just walk onto Parliament Hill and get an audience with that many parliamentarians unless you are a world leader, the president of the United States, or the nation in crisis and you have the answer."

Said Lou Engle of Faytene: "Like Esther in the Bible, Faytene has risked everything to step onto the stage of Canadian history. There is a young generation of men and women who have been catapulted into arenas of massive influence, fueled out of the fasting and prayer movement . . . as she is calling the youth of Canada to prayer and fasting, they are now seeing visible change take place."

Faytene herself, speaking of her vision, explained that, "If this was truly going to be a Jesus movement, it was going to need to smell like Jesus. His fragrance is not accusation and petty debate, but intercession, honor and love. We will never hold back in speaking truth, but when we speak it, we aim to do it in the right spirit."
