Research Reveals Which Countries Believe in God Most, Least

According to a report in the Christian Post, the Philippines ranks highest with 84% of the population saying they "know God really exists, and have no doubts about it."

Atheism, it reported, is highest in former East Germany with ex-Socialist states in northwest Europe ranking high as well.

The U.S., as well as Israel and Orthodox Cyprus, were ranked along with Catholic societies as countries with "low atheism" and "high strong belief" population rates.

Interestingly, in Japan, only nine percent of the population said they don't believe in God, yet only four percent said they know God exists.

The Japanese are "actually spiritual people," said Richard Chuman, executive director of the Japanese Evangelical Missionary Society. "They're not religious people, but they're spiritual people," and Japanese people who travel to the U.S. or Australia are more likely to become Christians while abroad.
