Arizona Passes Bill Allowing Bible Classes in Public Schools

UPDATE 4/19/12: Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has signed into law House Bill 2563 that allows the establishing of elective classes that focus on the Bible and its influence on western civilization.

Arizona Senate(Phoenix, AZ/4-18-12)?In a 21 to 9 vote on April 12, the Arizona Senate passed House Bill 2563 allowing schools to offer high school elective courses focusing on the Bible and its influence on Western Civilization.

It is not yet known whether Governor Jan Brewer will sign the bill.

As noted in The Christian Post, the elective class "would teach students, among many things, the contents of the Old Testament and the New Testament, the history recorded by the Old Testament and the New Testament, and the influence of the Old Testament and the New Testament on laws, history, government, literature, art, music, customs, morals, values and culture."
