Sunbeam Bread Company Boldly Makes Faith Statement on Their Packaging Logo

Logo shows young girl with hands folded in prayer and caption that reads "Not by bread alone."

Beginning at Thanksgiving, the producers of Sunbeam Bread change the logo on their packages to reflect the holidays.

"They change the whole packaging of the product with a new bag," says pastor Joseph Groux of Orange County, Virginia, "and instead of [the character] just being up there smiling, she now has her hands folded in prayer and the caption underneath says 'Not by bread alone.'"

Mary Krier, spokesman for the bread's marketing company Flowers Foods, says, "That [image] dates back to the 1950s, the 'Not by bread alone' as well as the image of her in a reflective pose. They just felt that it brought people back to remembering what's important in life."

According to a report by the American Family News Network, Groux encourages Christians to support the bread company in their boldness in the face of political correctness.
