Trapped Thai Youth Soccer Team: Classmates Pray Outside of Cave Entrance Ahead of Treacherous Rescue Attempt"We are here to pray and sing for them," fellow classmates told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. We want our friends inside and rescue teams to know that we are sending our support." Note from Julie Smith, Managing Editor of the Elijah List: Being born in Thailand and having a deep love for my home country, I have been following this story very closely and praying continually for the rescue efforts of these boys and their soccer coach trapped in Tham Luang cave. When it was first reported they were missing, it took me a few days to realize that I myself was in this exact cave in North Thailand a few years ago, when visiting the region. Even then, when we explored the cave, we didn't have full access to it due to earthquakes occurring previously in the same month. (Screengrab via CNN video) I had been praying fervently for these boys to be found. Then on my birthday July 2nd, I woke up that morning and the first thing I said was, "Lord, let these boys be found today on my birthday...that would be the greatest present today." And sure enough later in the day, reports came in that they were found on that day. Now my prayer is, "Lord, give the rescue teams Your great wisdom on the best way to get those boys out of the cave safely and quickly." Years ago, the Lord told me that "revival will start in the north," and I went there praying and declaring revival over the land. The world is watching North Thailand right now, and we get the opportunity to join together in prayer in the rescue efforts of these boys. [Faithwire.com] A Thai Navy SEAL team may be forced to stage an extraordinarily perilous rescue mission today in order to free a group of young boys from a cave before the water level becomes too high. According to the state's governor, an impending storm could be fatal for the soccer team, who have been stuck inside the vast cave network since June 23. There is some good news, however. As classmates of the stricken boys stand at the mouth of the cave and hopefully declare: "Believe in God. Only belief can move a mountain," efforts to pump water out of the Tham Luang Nang Non caves are proving very successful. Some 128 million liters of water removed from the flooded passages, equating to a drop in water level of more than 40cm (15in) since Wednesday. But the clock is ticking, and as the storm approaches, the situation becomes ever more treacherous... Continue reading here.
