According to a report by the Christian Post, a Christian social networking site has been developed as an alternative to other web networking sites that have had trouble lately with online predators.

Oaktree.org was founded to bring together people who have a passion for God, from all over the world. Brady Stump, who founded the site, explained how it came about. "I was searching for an online community where I could grow my faith by interacting with other Christians in a social networking kind of way. Unfortunately there was nothing out there for Christians that completely filled this gap, so a few of us in town simply created one for ourselves!"

Stump says the mission of Oaktree.org is not just to connect people, but to "make a positive difference in the lives of all who come into contact" with it.

Similar to the popular MySpace.com, the new Oaktree website allows the user to create their own page with personal profiles and images. In addition the site features the ability to send e-cards and post prayer requests.

"We pray that our new site will foster creativity and innovation within the Christian movement and will break down previous barriers of communication worldwide," Stump added.
