According to a report last week in the Daily Mail, Meriam's first words upon arriving in Italy were, "Thanks to God we are all fine. I trusted God from the first instant. I knew that He would not abandon me. When they condemned me to death, I never thought of renouncing my religion."

When asked what she was going to do now that she was free by Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Meriam replied, "I will put my trust in God as I always have done. We will start a new life [in America]."

Indeed, Religion News Service reports that their new life will be lived in New Hampshire and that Meriam and her family are scheduled to depart for the US soon.
