Benghazi Questions Remain, a Year LaterAre Benghazi survivors really being forced to sign statements they won't testify or talk about what happened? As America, on Wednesday, observed the somber anniversary of the worst attacks on US soil, another date was marked, yet much more in the background in terms of media attention. (Reuters Photo) September 11th, 2013 was exactly a year since the attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya, and the deaths of four Americans: Ambassador Chris Stevens, former Navy SEALS-Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods, and computer specialist Sean Smith. Pressing questions have gone unanswered in a years' time, as pointed out in an article by CBN News. Judicial Watch is one group that has been investigating the terror attack, and senior researcher, Christopher Farrell spoke with CBN. (Chris Stevens / AP Photo) "Whoever's going to be held accountable for what happened?" Farrell asked. "The folks at the State Department who were suspended from their positions have just been reinstated. They've been on a year's administrative leave, with pay." Farrell noted that some of the CIA operatives who were involved with that mission in Libya have had to undergo multiple polygraph examinations, and some survivors of the incident were forced to sign agreements not to talk about what happened. "Why are people signing non-disclosure agreements and being polygraphed?" he asked in the CBN report. It's unclear whether or not these and other questions will be answered; it is clear, however, that some officials are hoping the matter will simply fade away. But that's not very fair to the families of those whose lives were lost a year ago—let alone being in the nation's best security interests.
