"The idea here is to build a relationship, and to say that our Creator loves all of us." –Jonathan Maracle
(Sioux Falls, SD)—For the second consecutive year, Native American Christian band Broken Walls played at the LifeLight music festival in South Dakota.
The band was part of the Healing and Honoring of Nations event, aimed at connecting people in need with the services of several Sioux Falls groups there to help them. (Photo: Jay Pickthorn / Argus Leader)
Broken Walls founder and leader, Jonathan Maracle, noted that their purpose is to "build relationships" and to say that "our Creator loves all of us."
"We as Americans have to reach out to the people around us," Maracle told a reporter for ArgusLeader.com. "When we see someone hurting, we can't think, 'They just didn't make the right choices.' Many times they didn't have a lot of the same choices that others had."
Along with the unique and expressive Native American drums, chants, flutes and guitar music of Broken Walls, there were dancers in full regalia performing alongside them.
