(Washington, DC)?This morning, around 10:45 a.m., a gunman reportedly carrying a Chick-fil-A bag, shot a security guard at the headquarters of the Family Research Council, a lobby organization founded by James Dobson.
The guard was shot in the arm as he subdued the gunman, and is said to be "conscious and breathing," and in stable condition.
In a press conference following the shooting, FBI spokeswoman Jacqueline Maguire was quoted as saying the injured security guard went "above and beyond" his call of duty and hailed him as a "hero."
Said Tony Perkins, President of FRC, "Our first concern is with our colleague who was shot today. Our concern is for him and his family."
Fox News reported that the man, said to be in his 20's, "expressed disagreement with the organization's conservative policy positions," and noted that the case is being treated as "domestic terrorism."
