". . . that's what this is all about: making things beautiful from things that aren't."
(Missouri, USA)—Last week, CNN posted an article about Ashley Carter, an Ozark Christian College student whose labor of love is already touching hearts.
The 20-year-old Christian Believer was "very saddened" upon hearing of a mosque in her town that had been burned to the ground.
"I thought it was very evil," remarked Carter.
The violent act of the mosque burning was compounded with the Sikh temple shooting in Wisconsin, and citing the latter act of hateful murder, Carter admitted to being "pretty discouraged."
However, she was determined to make a difference because of own faith.
"Jesus calls us to love people," she noted, and with the help of friends, Ashley Carter decided to try to bring something good out of the two evil acts by organizing a "rally of people coming together, from all walks of life, all religions; a really diverse group of people trying to promote this radical love."
Kimberly Kester, spokeswoman for the Islamic Society of Joplin (whose worship house serving about 50 families in the southwest Missouri city had burned down) said she and other members of the mosque are planning to attend Carter's rally.
Carter told CNN that different bands will provide music, and speakers will talk on "promoting love," she added that her motivation for putting the rally together is her "love for Jesus."
She explained, "When there's an act of hate, you have a choice to make it something beautiful. So that's what this is all about: making things beautiful from things that aren't."
