(London, UK)—Jacob Wukie, an archer with the U.S. Olympic team, is another Christian representing his country in London this month.

Said Wukie: "For me, my worth is in the fact that I am saved. I'm a Christian. I'm in Christ. That's where my worth comes from. My goal is to glorify God and do His will."

According to a Baptist News report, Wukie had to battle considerable anxiety and frustration to get to the finals because of losing out on an opportunity to compete in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. (Photo by Teresa Iaconi/USA Archery)

"Even though I intellectually believed that God was in control and had a good plan for my life," he said, "and that all things work together for good for those who are Christians, I kind of proved to myself that I didn't actually believe it, because I was so worried about all of these things that had gone wrong."

Wukie says he confronted his fears by praying God would change his heart. His prayers were subsequently answered and Wukie says he ultimately became excited about whatever the future had in store for him, even though he didn't know what it was.
