Prayer Reduces Risk of Alzheimer's

Study found that praying regularly can reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease by 50 percent.

prayer (Israel)—A new study funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Washington, DC, led by American and Israeli researchers, have found that people, and women in particular, can avert Alzheimer's with prayer.

Said Yakir Kaufman, head of the neuropsychiatric department at Herzog Hospital in Jerusalem, "We found that people with higher levels of spiritual well-being had a significantly slower progression of Alzheimer's disease."

According to a Media Line report, the Israeli organization Melabev has ten centers serving about 600 Alzheimer's patients for whom prayer is part of their daily routine.
