"You can only live for yourself for so long." -Aurielle Lindblom
(Los Angeles, CA)—Yahoo Sports reveals that Dodgers' reliever Josh Lindblom has been volunteering at the Dream Center in L.A.
Those familiar with the Dream Center, know that the ministry, located near Dodger Stadium in what was once a hospital, serves the homeless and needy—many in the most desperate situations and conditions—in downtown L.A. (Photo: Y! Sports)
According to the Yahoo report, Lindblom first heard about the Dream Center as he was listening to its pastor, Pastor Matthew, speak on the radio one day.
"He was screaming at me," says Lindblom, not meaning that the voice on the radio was literally screaming at him, but that the message was speaking to him.
Said Lindblom's wife, Aurielle, who volunteers with him, "It's making him—both of us—realize there's so much more to life than his baseball career. You know, you can only live for yourself for so long."
